2 Seriously Injured In New Haven Hit-And-Run

NEW HAVEN, CT — Two people were seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash in West Rock Saturday evening, according to police. A vehicle turning onto Brookside Avenue was struck by another vehicle and two occupants in the turning vehicle were ejected upon impact.

A police sergeant found the ejected crash victims lying the roadway. Five people between the ages of 17 and 21 were in the car at the time of the crash.

The other vehicle remained at the scene but was unoccupied, according to police. Witnesses said two people fled from that vehicle.

The two ejected crash victims were transported by ambulance to Yale-New Haven Hospital with serious injuries. The two victims remain hospitalized with one of the two in critical condition.

The NHPD Accident Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene, which was closed overnight for investigation but has since reopened.
